MTN
When using MTN users should be aware of the following policy changes.
Pay as you go “PAYG” sims will not provide the GPRS service our software requires.
A contract line activated for GPRS will provide the correct GPRS data.
the APN for contract GPRS is web.mtnnigeria.net
The username and password is gprs (same for both)
GLO
Our experience with GLO is that even the PAYG sims will provide GPRS
The frustration with GLO is that when a GLO sim is purchased the sim is not automatically activated for GPRS. The instructions on the website instruct you to call customer services on 121 to activate GPRS on the SIM.
To date when dialing 121 or the fixed line number we get the message “Sorry your call cannot be connected at this time”
It appears that you have to go to the GLO HQ and ask for the GPRS service on your SIM
