GPS Tracking and Immobilisation

FM3200

fm3200_2

The FM3200 is an intelligent GSM/GPRS terminal with an internal GPS receiver, designed to track any vehicle or other item of value.

GSM/GPRS Connectivity

It’s internal GSM/GPRS modem transmits location co-ordinates back to a central office via the mobile phone network. The unit can be configured to transmit co-ordinates immediately or in ‘batches’ of co-ordinates to conserve mobile phone useage. Every set of co-ordinates has a unique timestamp allowing a complete history of a vehicle’s movements to be built up.

The FM3200 can be configured to generate timestamped co-ordinates based on any combination of the following:

  • Time Elapsed (e.g. every 30 seconds)
  • Distance Travelled (e.g. every 1Km)
  • Angle Turned (e.g. every time unit turns 30 degrees)
  • Geofence boundary crossed (5 zones, user defined)

Every set of co-ordinates is stored internally should the vehicle stray outside mobile phone coverage and will be automatically sent as soon as coverage returns.

Inputs And Outputs

Two custom inputs monitor specific events in a vehicle and the FM3200 will send back timestamped notification of those events to a central office. These inputs can be connected to vehicle door switches or custom panic buttons to enhance vehicle security applications. The state of these inputs is continuously monitored and any change in their state will be recorded and notified via GSM/GPRS.

Two custom outputs allow the FM3200 to energise relays to control a vehicle remotely. The most popular application for these is to immobilise a vehicle. By sending the FM3200 a special SMS text, the relays can be opened or closed remotely.

FM3200 can also generate industry standard NMEA messages via its USB port for interface to vehicle mounted PC navigation applications.
