Remote Access - July 14th, 2008 by Diplomat Guru
Have you ever thought how handy it would be to be able to connect to the office from home and check up on things or to log into the office computers from your laptop whilst sitting in an airport lounge and catch-up on some work? Now you can log in to the office remotely using the latest Internet technology. There are three different tools you can choose from to do the job, each one giving you different functionality once you’ve logged in…
Remote Desktop
Remote Desktop is already part of Windows XP. When someone remotely logs into a computer using Remote Desktop it blanks the screen of the office user. Remote Desktop is particularly useful for a manager wanting to remotely log into his office computer which isn’t generally used by anyone else.
Diplomat Desktop
Diplomat Desktop allows you the Manager to log into an office computer and watch the screen. It allows the worker to keep working whilst you’re logged into their computer, but you can take control of their Desktop at anytime. Diplomat Desktop is particularly useful for support, training and monitoring of your staff.
Ghost Login (Terminal Services)
Terminal Services allows you to log into a computer using a different user name and permission level whilst not disturbing the person using the machine, in fact they won’t even know you’re there -you’ll be just like a ghost!
No Work Life Balance?
Take control and let remote access help you to run your business from the comfort of your home. Use it to train and monitor your staff or just to catch-up with all that overdue paperwork.
Even answer the office phones from your remote location. (VoIP Extensions)
In addition to these simple services Diplomat can use the same technology to connect you to your telephone exchange so that you can even take calls from anywhere in the world. We can even connect satellite offices together so they can share work and answer each others telephone calls. This can greatly reduce the number of staff needed to cover multiple locations.
Please note, all of these dial-in services need a VPN (Virtual Private Network) between your home and your office. This can be created over the internet using standard internet connections or you can setup your own private high speed wireless network using our Microwave links.
