Training - July 14th, 2008 by Stewart
Training is vitally important for all users of the Navigator system, from telephonists to despatchers and managers. A fully trained workforce means a happy workforce working efficiently and productively!
The delivery of IT training is changing rapidly. Gone are the days of the more traditional classroom style delivery where attendees are bombarded with information over a 2 day period and often end up remembering less than 25% of the topics covered on the course.
At Diplomat we aim to do things differently and with over 10 years software training experience in-house, we are developing an alternative way of up-skilling your staff with short off-the-shelf training modules and “just in time”training and assistance.
New systems
With a new system we recommend at least one days initial consultancy/training day to get you off the ground covering system set-up to suit the way your company works and the basics of booking and despatch. Over the next few days and weeks you and your staff will undoubtedly come up with a whole host of questions. If required we can visit again to answer all your queries and fine tune the system set-up.
Top-up training
We offer short instructor lead training modules which can be delivered online using Desktop Streaming enabling your staff to stay at their desks and not have to take time away from the office. These sessions can be booked to fit in with your own company’s busy schedule. There are a series of training modules to choose from, or alternatively you can book a session totally dedicated to your specific needs.
Just in time training
Forgotten how to do something, or just need some help now? “Just in time”training is available at any time during office hours for all your staff. Just call our published support number
New staff
When a new member of staff joins your company you’ll want them to hit the ground running. Use your training credits to purchase a series of training modules designed to get the new staff member up and running as soon as possible.
Navigator User Guides
There are three easy to use and understand user guides, one for Telephonists, one for Despatchers and the third for Owner/Managers. The Telephonist guide just covers taking bookings and finding bookings, the Despatchers covers despatching jobs to drivers and the owner/manager guide covers all aspects of setting up the system through to pricing and invoicing. The users guides can be download from the User Guides download page.
MDT user guide & aids
If your cars have Mobile Data Terminals installed (MDTs) the drivers will also need training and assistance.
We have created a set of postcard sized tip cards for in-car use. They provide instant help and training for new drivers as well as helping your experienced drivers with the more obscure features of the MDT, such as requesting a break or changing destination with a passenger on board. The tip cards can be ordered direct from Diplomat.
